Hi, I just installed WP 2.7 and created a site with the Thesis theme. I set a static home page and a page called blog to be my posts page. When I go to the blog page I get the message:

    Index of /blog
?Parent Directory (link to home page)

If I change the permalink for this page to any other name, eg, blog2 and update the page, then everything loads fine.

    my url is: originsofhealth.com

the page in question is not currently in the navbar, it’s address is:
    originsofhealth.com/blog

Any help/thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Have you actually created and publish a page called “Blog”?

Yes, I have. Even deleted everything and recreated the page, still same problem. I can go into the permalink for the page I currently have and change the name from “blog” to anything else and hit save, then update page and it works fine. Just really want to call the page blog.

    Really strange…

When you create/edit the Blog page, what’s the page slug look like? That’s the web url called Permalink just under the page’s title box. If it’s not set to https://originsofhealth.com/blog/, you need to edit it.

If I change the page slug to https://originsofhealth.com/blogg or anything else for that matter it works. I just can’t figure out what’s up with the “blog” permalink. It would be so much simpler if it worked.

I left up two pages, one with a page slug /blog, the other with /blogg.

Maybe someone can figure this out, I certainly am at a loss.

    Thanks!

Found an empty folder in my public_html folder that was named blog. Don’t know how it got there, deleted it and everything works fine now.

I have the same issue. Looks to me like the page blog and the directory /blog are being confused.

When I use FileZilla to look at my file structure I can see that under two folders with the same content /public_html/blog and /www/blog neither of which is empty. Am I safe to also delete /public_html/blog?

I’m hosted with VentralIP if that helps.

    Cheers.

For those who also have this problem. I seem to have solved it by copying my index.php file from /public_html to /public_html/blog and
    editting the line require('./blog/wp-blog-header.php');
    to require('./wp-blog-header.php');.
