Changing checkout form and IP storage

    Hi I’m new to woocommerce and wanting to use it only for selling services which Ill be doing as virtual products.

    My concerns are related to GDPR as I can’t find out to change the information taken upon someone signing up as I don’t need there address or phone number. Also it isn’t clear that they are actually making an account on my page.

    And another few concerns is that it stores the IP address of customers which I dont understand why and I’m unable to see an option to explicitly make users accept my privacy policy upon making a purchase which I believe is required to be GDPR compliant?

    There are several different ways to remove the billing address fields, as shown in this search.

    Regarding IP address, this is for security reasons. If someone has committed fraud against you, you can turn the IP over to local authorities to track them down.

    As for the privacy policy, if you set a Terms and Conditions page in WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced, then your customers are required to check a box on checkout saying they have agreed.

    Thanks Jesse does the terms and conditions cover privacy policy aswell?

    For anyone else who comes across this with the same issue. I found this plugin very easy to use and solved the issue.

    @slimmyweight The terms and conditions could, as the text could be edited to say Privacy Policy rather than Terms and Conditions via translation plugins.
