PayPal Standard Gateway – One payment for date range access

    Hi there

    We have a membership which runs from 1st May 2018 to 30th April 2019 ie. one payment for date range access.

    When a new member goes to pay with PayPal Standard Gateway the Terms are shown as “￡30 GBP for 90 days” ie. correct payment amount but wrong duration (as it should be either 365 days or 1 year or even simply “annually”).

    We need to correct this urgently as it’s putting off potential new members who think they’re going to get charged every 90 days but I’m struggling to see where this text is being generated.

    Please advise as soon as possible.

    Hope all is well!

    I am afraid this is not an issue with the plugin, that coming from the PayPal end. That it’s a limitation from the” Paypal Standard” gateway. If finite access period doesn’t match that Payment gateway period PayPal will show something else.

    During the renewing, it will have a correct date.

    For the Date Range access type memberships, it is suggested to use PayPal Single getaway.

    Thank you for your reply although I really don’t see how it can be coming from PayPal! How would PayPal “know” to say something like “￡30 GBP for 90 days” if it wasn’t receiving some information from the plugin. Not mention the fact that if it IS coming from PayPal, how is that same message miraculously fixed when renewing?

    Oh and of course, finite access period memberships are never renewed anyway ??

    I’ve no idea what the “payment gateway period” is (I’m guessing that’s something that comes from the plugin and perhaps we could override?) but for now at least… yes we’ve had to resort to using PayPal Standard which isn’t ideal, but at least it works.
