No image in preview when using Hotlink Protection

    Cloudflare has Hotlink Protection for images in their Scrape Shield settings.
    There is also code available to stop hotlinking to images by other sites.

    When these security measures are used, no image appears in the preview for sharing to Pinterest.

    That usually causes the share to be abandoned.

    On further testing, the image does actually post to Pinterest, but this creates a bad user experience for the site visitor and lowers shares.

    I recommend you contact Cloudflare about that issue. I don’t believe there’s anything we can do on our end to prevent that. CloudFlare is modifying the markup of the page to prevent the images from being accessible.
