I’m using a somewhat unique setup, but the solution is probably not that complicated.

I’m running wordpress multisite and I’m using domain mapping where the front end of the site is “mapped” with a custom domain, but the dashboard uses the root site url. I’m not positive if the issue is caused by domain mapping in general, or it’s due to the fact that I am only mapping the front end URL

Here is a sample on my development site:

All the download monitor shortcodes print the mapped version of the URL and fail to download.

If you’d like access to my development site, let me know and I’ll set you up a login.

  • Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Our plugin created the download links based on the admin URL. The only way around this is to also map the admin section to the same domains as the front end.

Actually the solution is pretty simple:

When creating the download you choose “+ Add file” – the url pulled from the media library was showing the unmapped url, but you can manually change it to the mapped domain. Downloads then complete correctly.

tl/dr Domain of the media file needs to match the domain of front end of the site.

    Hello,

Thanks for sharing that. I’ll remember this in case someone else asks.
