• I have one website (https://www.adhdcoaches.org) that is made up of three blogs. One is the home site linked above, one is our newsletter and a third is our password protected member site. Each one is in its own folder on the site and they all work fine (except that the newsletter leaves out the sidebars in IE..but that’s different problem)

Currently, and as is usual, the search function searches its own blog just fine.

What I’d like to know is this. Is there a way to search multiple blogs — all three blogs with one search box?

I could include a link that says, for example, “Search our newsletter here.” And then just make that link go to another blog. But it sure would be clean to search them all at once.

    Thanks

  • Perhaps a little integration with Google Site Search?
    https://www.google.com/sitesearch/

As long as all 3 sites have the same “root” domain, something like that would work.

    Dear kerchmcc

I am curious if (& how) you solved this issue. I have tried integrated my two blog site with a custom Google search, but I am having difficulties getting it all to work.

It has been suggested to me privately that my main issue stems from my using the WP Hive plugin, which creates multiple blogs in a single WP install, mainly meant for single admins. I think my real problem stems from this: one blog creates a sitemap no problem; the second blog doesn’t, and I don’t know why.

If you have a solution to the “multiple blogs one site: let’s search” problem, I would be keen to listen.
