I just found out this morning that WP Vidavee disabled service on December 29, 2008. The plugin download here provides a link to retrieve the FLV files, but it just goes to a page that tells me to remove the plugin.

I wasn’t given any notice of this happening, or I would have taken care of it a few months ago – I have a couple of clients who were actually using this plugin on their sites – one of them it was THE content on their site (the plugin was their choice, not mine) – so now all of their content is completely gone.

Does anyone know of a way to get these videos back? I’d like to retrieve them, but the link provided is dead. Is there some other way of obtaining them?

Well, I emailed the company and heard back from them this morning. They claim to have given everyone notice that they were deleting everything (from what I can find, they gave 5 day’s notice, on their website. I, and two of my clients who were using this, never got notification of this happening even though they claim they sent out an email to everyone.)

So they are gone forever. (I especially love the internal communication they had in the emails – the guy who responded to me sent along *everyone’s* response to my email over the last couple of days. it was… interesting to say the least.)

Just thought you all would like to know, in case anyone else gets surprised by this. If you’re just finding out ,you might as well try to find the original files on your computer, because you’re getting no help from them.
