Images in posts and pages wont display full size

There seems to be a bug where you cant resize an image unless it has a caption, as observed by another poster https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/can-not-adjust-image-size-without-caption/

However, even adding a caption, the image it doesnt upsize at full res, it gets stretched into a soft, low res blowup.

Basically I cannot get an image wider than 768 pixels to appear in a page or a post, other than 768 pixels stretched and soft.

The image you see at my page is 2310 pixels wide and I’ve told my media settings to display it full size in every way I can find. But it won’t. Note this isnt a problem with the header image which you’ll see above it, nice and sharp.
