I am loving this plugin but there is one aspect that I find a little user unfriendly.

The email templates are “bare bones” and to edit them requires php and css knowledge that many hobbyist site owners like me don’t have.

It would be SO much easier if the templates could be provided as WordPress templates so that you could edit them in the the Visual Editor.

Could that be included in a later release please?

Meanwhile, are they any guides to manipulating them, for dummies please?

    Hi guys,

I would love to add those as templates from a settings page. It would make it much easier for everyone indeed. This will definitely be a thing.

For now, what you can do is, create a folder called gdpr in your theme, then inside that one, create another folder called email.

Go to the plugin folder. Open the templates/email folder and copy the template you want to edit to the folder you created in your theme.

    Make the desired edits.

Ah…. I tried that but I my path was wrong. I used gdpr/templates/email

I got round the problem by editing the files offline, retaining copies offline, creating a new online subfolder called originals which contains copies of the originals.

I then overwrote the files in the main gdpr/templates/email folder with my locally edited copies. Crude, but effective.
