• Hi guys,
What’s the plan in relation to Gutenberg? I enabled the beta plugin earlier this week and noticed when writing content that there’s nothing available for me to embed links via the AALB.
Is there going to be compatibility at some point in the future? Any ideas on timeline?

@amazonlinkbuilder – are you able to advise any plans/provide us with an update in relation to this at all?

Someone else has released a ‘block’ to drop into Gutenberg… https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/add-amazon-block/

I had hoped it would make the amazon plugin work in Gutenberg, but I suspect it’s a totally separate amazon affiliate plugin (of unknown quality) and nothing to do with the Amazon Associates Link Builder at all.

Since the whole Gutenberg debate is a real hot potato right now, it’s disappointing that no one from the amazon plugin’s development team will comment. But then, it did take them forever to make the darn plugin to start with…

Still in beta and already obsolete ;-(

    Hi All,

Currently Amazon Associates Link Builder plugin is not supported on Gutenberg editor of WordPress.
Work in progress for to make it compatible with Gutenberg editor.

Install the WordPress Classic Editor and it will work. You will have up to 2021 to play with this. To https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/classic-editor/

@amazonlinkbuilder – is there any news/update/timeline with regards to this? AALB is a great way for visitors to visualise things (as opposed to just written words or links) and I love the “Price Link” feature as well!!!

I, personally, don’t agree with @robbcapp’s suggestion in the slightest. If you’re a classic editor kinda person, so be it. But “use the classic editor for the next 2 to 3 years” just to use a plugin that’s not catching up to the direction that WP is going (whither you like it or not!) doesn’t make sense.

There’s at least 9 million sites out there running 5.0+ with Gutenberg (https://gutenstats.blog/ & https://www.ads-software.com/about/stats/ ) and with Gutenberg being default for all new WP installs, Amazon is losing out on a good amount of users here?
