    so you change the wp-login.php to something else like “/join” to hide it,
    but its clearly visible as soon as you join xxx.com/wp-admin
    since it redirects to xxx.com/join

    so what? how is this hidden in any way?

    To make it work you have to enable this: “Disable automatic redirection to the login page when /wp-admin/ is requested by an unauthorized request”. It’s that easy.

    yeah just spot it after write the topic,

    would make sense if this feature is self-included when a custom url is specified,
    otherwsie makes no sense to have it disabled with a custom url

    There are plenty of cases when people don’t need it enabled by default. We’re going to implement an advisor which will inform a user on that matter.
