Dashboard Disappeared

  • Went into the subject website to make some changes and I’m not able to access the dashboard. It doesn’t appear as an option.

    Also I notice the contact form and parallax plugins don’t seem to be working.

    Oh, I had to change the password as it wouldn’t accept the one I knew to be correct.

    Is this on the same host as the other site you’re having problems with?

    With respect to the contact from, I see the shortcode [bestwebsoft_contact_form] on the page. That tells me that the plugin has been inactivated or deleted.

    I noted that the site is running WordPress 4.6.1. First thing to do is to back it up then try a manual update: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Upgrading_WordPress#Manual_Update

    I suspect you’ve been hacked, running a site that far out of date.

    Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

    If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.
