Quick questions – my podcast has been accepted by itunes yay, but I’m not sure where it’s pulling description information from. Is it the excerpt field in my word press post page?

My second question is – is there a way I can differentiate what podcast episodes to put on itunes. I post different kinds of MP3s to my site, some are podfics not just my podcast show and I don’t necessarily want those to show up on my iTunes page. Is there a way I can separate what goes on itunes and what doesn’t?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Unless a plugin outside of PowerPress or your WordPress theme are somehow affecting your podcast feed, your descriptions in Apple Podcasts should come from what you enter as the blog posts for your Podcast Episodes.

If you want to post audio files to your website but keep them out of your podcast feed, you can try using the audio shortcode built into WordPress:
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Audio_Shortcode

Or you can create a second podcast channel on your website using Custom Channels, and post those audio files there:
    https://create.blubrry.com/resources/powerpress/advanced-tools-and-options/podcast-channels/

If you put those files into the second channel, they won’t wind up in your main podcast feed and display in places like Apple Podcasts.
