    When opening Wordfence it tells me there are 110 Unknown files in WordPress core: php.ini

    It seems that my webhost has placed these files in there when I installed the site via their control panel app. Can I delete all these files? If they are necessary can I have just one php.ini file in the base folder?

    The contents of the files are:

    safe_mode=false;
    upload_max_filesize=67108864;
    post_max_size=67108864;
    memory_limit=268435456;
    extension_dir=/usr/lib/php7.0/extensions;
    zend_extension=/usr/lib/php7.0/extensions/opcache.so;
    opcache.enable=1;
    opcache.memory_consumption=32;
    opcache.interned_strings_buffer=8;
    opcache.max_accelerated_files=3000;
    opcache.revalidate_freq=180;
    opcache.fast_shutdown=0;
    opcache.enable_cli=0;
    opcache.revalidate_path=0;
    opcache.validate_timestamps=2;
    opcache.max_file_size=0;
    opcache.file_cache=/webhostname/homepage/0/number/docs/.opcache;
    opcache.file_cache_only=1;

  • Hi @mfairy!
    Whether you can remove them or not is something you should discuss with your host since it will depend on how they have configured the server. If they need to be there, you can choose on each scan result to ignore it.

    Hi @mfairy

    Since we haven’t heard from you for a while I’m going to go ahead and resolve this thread. If you have any other questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to open a new one.

    Thanks.
