    Hi,

I’ve also followed the instructions to add the Salary field. I have already added a Salary field to admin area using WP Job Manager Field Editor plugin.

I’m finding that following the instructions and checking the data structure, but still it gives a warning for missing baseSalary even though there is a salary entered into the field.

I also have no images appearing on Google Jobs, I have an image set for the company image, so assumed this would pull across.

I followed the steps to add salary. This did not work, as I’m using field editor plugin which is already adding the field.

I also checked the data structure document article you have.

I know this is an issue as I posted on another thread around the same exact issue, but was asked to create another thread.

    Appreciate the help.

    Hi @welshlamb10,

Apologies — I didn’t realize you’d created a new thread! Here’s what I posted on the previous thread that you’d accidentally marked as resolved:

I’ve added the Salary fields on my test site as indicated in our documentation, and I’m not getting any warnings when I run my URL through the Structured Data Testing Tool, so this is something specific to your site.

I’m using field editor plugin which is already adding the field.

Earlier, when I’d mentioned adding everything according to our documentation, rather than using the Field Editor plugin for part of it, I was suggesting you temporarily remove the field you added via the Field Editor plugin. You could do this just by temporarily deactivating that plugin. Then, add the appropriate code the way it instructs in our documentation. That’s the main variation between how you’ve added things to your site and my test site, so I’d like to rule it out.

We can continue corresponding on this thread.

Let me know how things go.

    Hi @jenhooks,

I followed the instructions. I disabled the field I added using field editor plugin and added the php to the functions.php file.

This did not create a field for the salary in the job admin area. I even tried changing the position number from 7 to 2 just to see if it was a order issue.

Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong?

    Thanks
    Ashley

    Hey Ashley,

Looks like the screenshot in our docs is a bit misleading. Here’s where the Salary field would be added in wp-admin:

    https://cld.wthms.co/TFX23b

Do you not see it there? If you don’t have the Job Data meta box active, you may need to enable it from the Screen Options tab in the top right corner.

If you’re still not seeing it there, can you try using the Code Snippets plugin to add the code, rather than adding it directly to functions.php? Here’s how I’ve added it:

    Cheers.

Thank you so much for your time.
I’ve carried out the steps provided and unfortunately it does not appear. Even with the plugin for the additional field types disabled.

I’ve inserted directly into functions.php and used code snippets as instructed above both methods fail.

I know that when the code is inserted it functions (and plugin is enabled for field editor) it is detecting the field set up as salary, as when using the snippet to display the salary on the front end of the advert it appears there correctly as expected. I believe that the field editor plugin is actually performing the same as adding the php into the functions area.

I still can’t get Google data structure to detect a salary, even though its clearly displaying on the advert.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hey @welshlamb10,

Could you be using the WorkScout theme, by any chance? An outdated version of it, as well? I found this relevant information about WorkScout and structured data:

    https://themeforest.net/comments/17466922

Perhaps try ruling out a theme conflict by toggling to a default theme, running Google’s tool, and see if the salary is detected?

Let us know what you find.

    Hi @jenhooks,

    No not using that theme.
I have managed to get the salary detected by google data structure.

    Although I get this error
‘baseSalary £23,866 (The attribute baseSalary.itemtype has an invalid value.)’

Any idea on how to fix?

    Many Thanks

    Hi @welshlamb10,

    Apologies for the delay here.

Are you able to click on the error in Google’s interface, and see what the code is that is causing the problem?

    Cheers.
