    Greetings WordPress Contributors,

    If I install and activate the Classic Editor plugin on the upcoming WP 4.9.8, will it stay active – that is, prevent Gutenberg from activating – when I install WP 5?

  • That would interest me too.
    If you install the Gutenberg Plugin AND the Classic Editor, the Classic Editor will replace the Gutenberg Plugin. I suppose that this is also the case when Gutenberg gets standard. I’d like to know the answer to this question, too. And to permanently exclude Gutenberg from my website, which is the better plugin to use: the Classic Editor plugin or the Disable Gutenberg plugin? Thanks.

    Ah, in test-driving the plugin, I see that I can choose either …
    – “Replace the Gutenberg editor with the Classic editor” (default setting) or;
    – “Use the Gutenberg editor by default and include optional links back to the Classic editor”

    Very good. I choose the former.
