    Hello,

Firstly can I please congratulate you on your excellent Plugin. In theory it is exactly what I am looking for. I say in theory because I am struggling to get the sync to work. I am able to sync my WordPress users to MailChimp, and if I update basic details e.g. Firstname, Lastname or email address within WordPress these changes are rectified on MailChimp. I have tried adding custom fields via the Send Additional Fields option. None of these are replicated to MailChimp. I am able to synchronize these additional fields to either lastname field, but when I try to synchronize address it does nothing. I created a blank extra field within MailChimp to see if the issue was with the address field, but this didn’t sync either – using any of the meta data on my WordPress installation.

    I am using
    MailChimp for WordPress version 4.2.4
    MailChimp user sync version 1.7.5
    WordPress version 4.9.7

I appreciate your support, and will happily pay for the plugin once I have ironed out any problems.

    Ed

    Hey Ed,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Please note that the “MailChimp User Sync” plugin is provided as is without support due to the varied ways it is used.

That said, please note it’s not possible to sync address fields from WordPress to default address fields in MailChimp. The reason for this is that unless the format is correct, the details are rejected. You can try creating custom address fields in MailChimp, then go to the “MailChimp for WP” menu and click on “Renew MailChimp Lists” button and then try to setup the sync for the custom fields again.

    Hi Harish,

Thanks for your reply. That is a great shame as specifically this was a feature I was hoping to incorporate. I may be able to get my data from one of the Address fields into MailChimp to help create sections.

    Thanks

    Ed

Instead of using the fields of the type “address” in MailChimp, we suggest to create normal text fields for each part of the address you want to sync, so you are not stopped by the strict address field validations from MailChimp.

Using normal text fields and UserSync you can send in the data and make segments based on those fields.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let us know!
