Translate label in italian

Hi!!
I have installed the alhpa-1.3 version of WP.
I’d like to translate labels in the sidebar (i.e. archives, categories, etc.) and other text (i.e.: posted in) in italian
I have read the wiki here

but this seems not working in the 1.3 version….
