logo is missing alt text

The custom logo is displayed as an url with only width and height and it is not generating/incorporating its alt-text. The alternative description has been added to the logo in the media lib though. Does anyone know how to overcome this? SEO-checkers report it is as a problem as well as Lighthouse’s accesibility checker.
