    Hello,

    They are displayed on the homepage (if you’re displaying Your Latest Posts in Settings > Reading, instead of a static page).

    Actually no, scratch that. They are artifacts from a previous version and will be removed in 1.0.2 (in a few minutes).

    Before deciding to use a single widgetized area for the Welcome message I was thinking about doing it with 2 separate areas, and then forgot to remove the unused code.
