(This is not a support question)
Suggestions for improved New User introduction to Gutenberg.1) The first draft page that gets saved is clearly identifiable as being created by Gutenberg (by name), so that it stands out in the pages list, and can be found easily.
2) Before editing any pre-existing page, the user can be warned of any effect that Gutenberg may on a page (which may or may not include; loss of format or content). Similarly if using the WooCommerce with Gutenberg.
3) “Bird Seed Trail” to guide them through to first page creation.
Top Toolbar could have ‘add paragraph’, ‘add picture’, ‘add youtube’ (or similar) addblock buttons in the top toolbar. This would serve as a ‘get you started’ type layout. Their drop down ‘tips’ box could say that more ‘add blocks’ are under the “+” at the top left.4) The settings could have a choice for a guided tour, ‘to get you started’, possibly as popup tips that have a ‘next’ button in them, so the user can progress to the next step when ready.
If these are positioned carefully, then it may permit the user to actually do the ‘next task’ while the tip is showing, following the instructions, and then move to the next stage.
Also, in creating the instructions, it may be noticed the effort that is required to carry out a task, and may lead to improvements in ease or speed of use.
