New media files uploaded but not seen

I’ve seen numerous posts of this issue, but am yet to find a solution to this problem.

Everytime i upload media it doesnt show in my media library or anywhere else.
It shows the media there as blank (no icon or border or anything) in the library even when i click on it.
This is for images, pdfs, all files.

The images and files uploaded a long time ago are visible, can see the images and icons for the pdf files. But any new media uploaded just doesn’t show.

I disabled all plugins one by one, didn’t help.
I thought this was a permission issue, however i followed a few methods of changing the permissions in FTP but that didn’t seem to do anything either.

I saw another person say his similar issue was fixed by his host updating PHP, i did that too and still nothing.

Any other solutions please? i really need this sorted
