• I ordered AND paid for this plugin to make our club’s online library more user friendly. The base works OK. But when I tried the function “bookshelf display” – my main reason for buying – it appeared I needed aan add-on for that specific functionality. I’m OK with extra payments, but this one was extreme. The plugin itself was $57 once, the add-on $200 yearly!
CORRECTION after response from ThemeNode below: The add-on is $25 yearly and $125 for a lifetime version.

Raised an issue to discover the “middle man” Envato just put that through to the developers. Almost one month later there is still no response from Envato or the developers. So be careful before buying: the basic functionality may be an expensive trap.

    Hi cappersg,
Sorry to hear about your experience but we do not have any addons that costs $200 yearly. You’re probably misunderstanding or mixing up with some other addons. In our case, Addons are absolutely optional and costs around $15-$25 yearly for single site license.

And can you confirm where you’ve created the ticket? I don’t see any such long pending tickets on our support portal.

Please provide some details, so we can help you out. You can send an email to themencode [at] gmail dot com with the details of issue if that’s easier for you.

    Thank You

Thanks for the answer. It’s a bit unfortunate that a 1-star review is needed to get any response.

I’ve really looked well before installing the base plugin and got the firm impression the “bookshelf display”? function was part of the base package. When I started looking for that option in the settings I dicovered this needed an extra add-on. Looked for the price and got the almost 200 euro quote – which I now know was a mistake on my side. It’s actually “only” $125 – still a lot of money for a small carclub.?

So I asked for a refund at your sales organisation Envato, explaining the reason for my disappointment. I got a message: they put it through to the developers (see below). After that I got no response at all, not from you nor from Envato. I thought this might be caused by still having the plugin active so I deactivated and uninstalled it.?

Tried again to get a response after 2 weeks, but again nothing happened. After that I started a dispute on PayPal – invoking their buyer protection which only lasts 4 weeks. All that happened was blocking of my account at Envato. Which means I cannot send you any details: all information is on their portal which is completely unaccessible for me. I found something in my mailbox: that’s added below….

Envato and ThemeNode seem to have serious communication issues: Envato blocked my account directly when I raised an issue with Paypal blocking also access to all information about the transaction, and ThemeNode seems to know nothing about the refund request. Maybe that is caused by the fact it’s not a software problem ticket, but a sales problem? For me it’s simply a problem that needs to be solved…..

So I wrote the 1-start review. After the response – that came very fast – I started to check things again. The original plugin is $51 – with handling $57 for a lifetime implementation. The add-ons are indeed about $25 – for a year. The one I liked was the “Display” which is $125 for a lifetime. I’ve misread this price and will correct it in the review, sorry for that. But it’s still 2,5 times the original plugin price – to me a very expensive “add on”! So I stand by my basic point: be very carefull buying this plugin because you might quickly need add-on’s – and they come a a price!

    Hi gerardcappers

We have sent your refund request to ThemeNcode for review. They will be able to approve or deny the request and may get in contact with you if they need to discuss any of the details. Any action taken by ThemeNcode will be emailed to you.

If you disagree with the author’s decision or don’t get an answer within 5 days, you’ll be able to raise a dispute through the above link so that Envato can review your claim in line with our refund policy. For this reason we recommend keeping all refund related communication onsite.

    Hi cappersg,

It’s not about one star rating, how can we respond if we don’t even get contacted? as I mentioned, I didn’t find any history on our email or support portal, so you can’t really blame us on this matter. Our support portal is linked on support tab of codecanyon product page, so, this really can’t be an issue for not being able to contact us.

Please feel free to contact our support if you still need any kind of assistance.

    Thank You

And on the other hand: how can I know that Envato did not contact you on the refund question :-)? Especially since they mailed me that they sent you the request (see text above!)? You mention the codecanyon support page, but that’s not where I paid for the plugin – that was Envato.. I don’t blame you, it seems Envato is the weak link over here.
Anyway: contact is established. And the question is still quite simple: I’d like a refund since the functionality I expected is only available with an add-on that is too expensive for our club…

UPDATE: after a lot of communication with Envato, the sales platform, it;’s quite clear they are absolutely NOT interested in giving any support. They immediately blocked my account, making access to both sales information AND the raised issue unavailable, They immedialely start pointing at their terms with no visible intention of solving or even discussing the issue. I’m sorry I did no in-depth research to Envato: various website give near zero-star reviews, all similar. But I thought I bougt a WordPress plugin from a developer, not from a “middle man”….
