Theme not working since wordpress move

upload the theme files?

I dont see that dir, or the files that ought to be inside in.

i have uploaded them 5 times now… i can see them on the ftp server but not in the cms, i am so confused and need to fix this

Be sure to put the files in the right folder, have a look at Whoo’s post, and then another one. And don’t make “nested” folders (as in wp-content/themes/autumn-concept-1_0/autumn_concept-1_0/themesfiles.

but i have, it is in the same place as the default theme, in the same file structure.

if you are quick, and email me .. ill take a look, and try to fix whatever the trouble is

Im only around for the next 52 mins and counting though – after that you will need to wait until I get home from work, take my dogs out to pee, get coffee, etc.. as soon as I get the email, Ill look.

k, i’ll check it out when I get it. my server processes email slow so I always use the “when I get it” clause, im not purposely slippery. ??

you had bad permissions.

NEVER set the permissions for a directory to 777 unless you know what you are doing and why.

NEVER set the permissions for files to 666 unless you know what you are doing and why.

a server thats set up with security in mind will puke once it “sees” any files or directories that are world-writable.

PS: you also ought to look into changing that password, its terrible. ??

your images probably have the same problem. I didnt look at those files.

wp-content/uploads/

dirs need to be 755.

files need to be 644

if this breaks your media uploading, you may need to talk to your host about a happy medium.

if theyre a good host, theyve already taken that into consideration, and you wont have trouble with the uploader.

OK, i really appreciate all your help, but i’m really struggling to understand what i need to do in order for this to work properly and how to change permissions etc…

what are you using for an ftp client? and by “work properly” are you talking about your images?

as Ive told you, your theme is now displaying. if you arent seeing it, you need to clear your local cache or do a hard reload of your page with your chosen browser. All of the technical terms I just used — theyre explained via simple google search.

ok, have changed permissions and now can see the theme and everything but the images are still not there, i have changed the permission on all image folders and images. and cleared my cache and cookies, still cannie find my images! grrrrr….
