responsive mode

    i cant find the answer anywhere
    i have a few videos on my site but they are not responsive on smartphone

    i tried
    video
    {
    width: 100%;
    height: auto;
    max-height: 100%;
    }

    but no result
    can anyone explain where i should put this code?
    i did it in Edit Theme, css, responsive
