I have the Hueman theme and recently upgraded to the latest version. The theme now has a “Customize” tab to make any edits including css. I cannot make any changes in this new “Customize” tab as I get an error that says “Unable to save due to 1 invalid setting.” It also says, “An error occurred: malformed social links”.

I also get the following two errors at the bottom of the “Footer Design” tab in “Customize”. I’m not sure if these are related:
    – Warning: Illegal offset type in isset or empty in /app/public/wp-content/themes/hueman/functions/class-utils.php on line 307
    – Warning: Illegal offset type in isset or empty in /app/public/wp-content/themes/hueman/functions/class-utils.php on line 313

I’m running WP 4.9.8 and Hueman 3.4.1 in a local test environment.

I have not downloaded the Hueman addons.
I have tried the following with no success:
    – deactivating all plugins
    – removing all customized css
    – running the site with PHP 5.6 and 7.1

I can still make some css changes directly in the database in wp_posts but it’s not a great way to make changes.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Hi @jedder,

I had this problem too after upgrading to the latest theme version.

I had a custome entry in the URL space utilising one social link to initiate a telephone number for touch devices.

I seems no the auther has decided to sanitise the URL entries so utilising this way is now ilegal in their eyes so I Had to remove it in order to save my further changes via customiser.

Pherhaps you have a social link with a remnant white space or a now considered ilegal use of the IRL entry that causing the customiser to bulk as part of it sanitising checks before saving.

Just seed for thought maybe its worth copying all your social link entries removing them all santising the URL entry area and then seeing if the customiser will save, if so then placing them back one by one to find the offending entry..

    Just my two cents..??

I can’t understand why a may broken link makes it impossible to save customzation. It takes me 30 Minuts now! Just for trying to save. For this one problem!

    Really bad thing.

What is the format of the skype social link that is accepted by hueman theme ?
    Thank you

    Thanks @andrewmperryman,

Seems you were right. Managed to solve the issue in a couple different ways.

    1. Removed my link directly from wp_options in the database where it appeared in “option_tree” and “option_tree_settings”. Once this was saved all errors went away in “Customize” and I was able to save. I then went back into the “Social Link” setting through “Customize” and put my link in again and the error didn’t return. For some reason with this method my appearance (font, colours, etc) reset so I had to readjust them all.

    2. I also had a backup version of my site so before upgrading to Hueman 3.4.1 I went into theme options and deleted my link setup in “Social Links”. This method did not reset all my custom style settings for the site when I upgraded to 3.4.1.

Although I’m not sure why my link still worked when I put it back in to the site through the theme’s “Customize” menu – but it works nonetheless…

@wpbetheme789, your question about the format of the Skype social link may be worth setting up a separate topic.
