• Hello, I come from WordPress.com. I have a blog there, and am able to set it as Private. As far as I know, this cannot be indexed or spidered by search engines or the like, and that’s the way I want it. Total privacy.

But I wanted to do more things with my blog, so I switched to www.ads-software.com. Now that I’m all setup with Bluehost, I realized I cannot make this blog Private. The only options are Public or Hidden. That’s quite a dealbreaker for me.

I’ve still got the Bluehost ‘Coming Soon’ page enabled, but my dashboard says ‘Search engines discouraged’, and that doesn’t really sound private. I can’t test plugins with it enabled either, but if I turn it off, can it be turned back on?

I’ve looked around at plugins and think I’m interested in this one called ‘Disable Site’, but it’s rather old and may be incompatible. Not really optimistic about these plugins longterm.

I need a privacy mode, because I’m writing about a special person. I’ve got big plans in the years coming, but for now my plans are to just use it as a journal like before.

Anyway I’m a little stuck as to what I should do, and need guidance.
