Unable to login to website/dashboard after changing General Setting Site address

  • Hello,

    On the settings tab, I change my URL from ‘https://www.URL.com/wordpress’ to ‘https://www.URL.com’. I am using WordPress to update the current site and have not yet swapped over the webpages as the new site isn’t ready to go live yet. Once making the change to the URL under the General Settings, when I try to login to WordPress or to edit a page, it automatically redirects me to the old site and doesn’t allow me to edit.

    Anyone have any ideas of how to revert the change?

  • Yes, you can open your database -> select the options table -> and modify the fields ‘site_url’ and ‘home’ and you will be able to successfulyl log back in ??
