Either way, resetting your admin password directly from the database is what you need to do.

so i’m using filezilla and it needs my host, username and password, what do i do with this??

ok, sorry……….i have a website, on my website there is a place where I can log in to get to my dashboard. I know the ID is admin, but my password does not work anymore. I click on “lost password” and they e-mail me a link……this is the link

after i click on the link it takes me back to my sign in page and says…….
Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid

So I can’t reset my password cause I can’t get into my dashboard to change it.

Do you need anything else?? I have not updated to new version of WordPress cause i feel it’s no use till i get things straightened out.

The lost password link will not work in version 2.5.1 which is the version you have.

You need to go to your hosting site, login and then using cpanel or vdeck or whatever your host has find your database and follow the instructions from ClaytonJames above. Before you open your database, make a backup or have your host make a backup.

The changes are easy following the instructions. The last part about MD5 may not apply – don’t worry, just follow the steps.

If you can’t or don’t want to do that, you can use the other step suggested in ClaytonJames link.

Thanks kmessinger……..I got together with my hosting site and they helped me with a few things, now i’m going to try claytonjames link and get my password changed. Thanks again for all your help!!!!
