• Hi. I am really new to WordPress and have a very limited knowledge of online applications.

I have installed WordPress using the Fantastico wizard on my cPanel, so I assume it was done correctly?

    However I now get a…

    Not Found

The requested URL /wp-admin/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

… error message when I try to visit my /wp-admin/ page.

I’ve done some research on this forum and others and everyone who has had this problem has solved it by amending the domain in php_myadmin. However this seems to be the solution if you have accidentally locked yourself out by changing settings withing your WordPress admin. I haven’t even been able to get that far yet.

A quick back story that may be relevant: This was my second attempt at installing WordPress. The first attempt through Fantastico brought back a whole list of errors so I uninstalled it. However I wasn’t able to reinstall it and learnt, through this forum, that I needed to delete the “installed_in_root.php” file in /.fantasticodata. Once I did that I was able to install it but then started having this new issue.

Any help would be really appreciated as I’ve been struggling with this for days!

    Thanks! ??

One further point: I have 2 domains associated with my hosting package. If I install WordPress to the main domain it seems to work fine. However, if I install it to the addon domain (which is a subfolder in the root folder and the domain I am trying to use for my blog) it is coming back with this 404 error.

can you give a link? to where it is supposed to be?
