    Hi,

    I don’t know this issue is already raised or not.

    Explanation of the issue.

    create user A and user B.

    User A sent so many messages to user B.

    Now user B has so many unread messages.

    User A has deleted some of the messages which have been sent to user B.

    But still user B can see all those deleted threads but not able to reply to that message. (you do not have permission to reply to this message).

    Due to this user get confused that why they are not able to reply to the messages.

    According to me, that thread should be deleted if one user has deleted that thread or there should be proper notice that message has been deleted on another end so no more replies should be added to this thread.

    Please share your thoughts.

    If user request delete of his account (for privacy) then that message will be deleted from both side. Otherwise message will be deleted only for him who deleted it. Other user may have important data in his message, So we do not want to delete those data without his permission.
    There are some cases where we do not want to show user the reason, eg. one user block another user. So we generalize those error message. If you want to change error message you can override form-reply.php template.
