  • I have a similar, if not the same issue.

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘?’ in /home/collabmedia/public_html/soldxsoc/wp-content/plugins/kvcore-idx/includes/functions.php on line 18

Hey you two, I hope I can help as this is all being built out. Everything they have going on is going to be GREAT!

You are both experiencing a php version error. They just released an update a few hours ago, I would uninstall and reinstall and see if that works.

After uninstall and reinstall, I now get this error instead:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘?’ in /home3/livingi8/public_html/mostlymonmouth/wp-content/plugins/kvcore-idx/includes/functions.php on line 18

    Hi Tracy and Andrew!

Can you let us know which version of PHP is running on your site? If you’re not sure which version you have, you could ask your hosting provider, or there are several plugins available that can help you find it: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search/php+version/

Based on the error you are getting, it sounds like you may have PHP 5 on your hosting. With kvCORE IDX, we are currently targeting and supporting PHP 7.0 and newer. PHP 7 is the version that is recommended when running WordPress (https://www.ads-software.com/about/requirements/), so we made the decision to work inline with those recommendations.

If we find that we have a number of users are using PHP 5 we may support it in the future, however at the moment we do not have any immediate plans to do so.

It’s possible that your hosting provider has PHP 7 available (most do). Before making any changes, I’d suggest reaching out to your hosting provider, and the developers of the plugins and themes you are using to make sure they are compatible with PHP 7. Some older and custom themes/plugins are, unfortunately, not compatible.

I’ll make sure we update our documentation to make this clear. Apologies for missing this when we released the plugin publicly!

Got the plugin installed with changing the php version. I got did get a “max upload size” error which I was able to make go away…

I’m being prompted for a kvCORE Authorization Token?

    Hey Sigma,

kvCORE IDX requires an Authorization Token in order to connect to our systems, so you will need an account with us in order to use the plugin.

If you have a kvCORE account already, you can contact support to obtain your token (there is an email address, or you can schedule a callback) : https://support.insiderealestate.com/portal/kb/articles/welcome-to-kvcore-support

If you do not have a kvCORE account yet, you can start the process by scheduling a demo here: https://insiderealestate.com/kvcore/

    Hope that helps!

    Kris
