Why are you over-engineering the editor?

  • Gutenberg would rotate in his tomb.
    I do not understand what you are trying to accomplish.
    It adds more complication and removes transparency as well as overview. Who is the target user for this?
    Certainly, this plugin does not add any benefits to the sites I manage.
    I really hope the standard editor will continue to be supported, long-term.
    The Gutenberg editor should remain a plug-in.

  • It’s now confirmed that Gutenberg will be the default editor in WP 5.0, but opt-out will be reasonably simple & effective via the Classic Editor plugin.

    Active planning for WP 5.0 includes detailed planning for the Classic Editor plugin within the release & confirms the Classic Editor plugin will be supported for many years.
