Can’t Login/XML-RPC Blocked

Hello-

I’ve been having 2 issue with my website and was wondering if someone can help me.

1. Trouble Logging to the Admin Site – For some reason the site is not accepting my password when I try to login to the Admin Site. It says, “You do not currently have a Shield user session. Please login again.” I tried requesting the password but I never received the email.

2. XML-RPC Blocked – I am having trouble connecting my site to Jetpack and I receive the following error message:

cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate

I emailed Jetpack and was told this:

I’m seeing two issues that might be causing the Jetpack setup to fail. The first is that SSL certificate error. This would indicate that the certificate might not be properly configured. When I attempt to visit it in the browser, it loads fine so I’m not sure what might be causing this. You will need to get in touch with your host to ask about the specific error. That error message again:

cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate

The second issue is that your XML-RPC file is being blocked when accessed via cURL. As noted above, it loads fine in the browser. When accessing it via cURL it returns the following error:

HTTP/2 405
A 405 error means that we aren’t allowed to read the file. This will prevent Jetpack from completing its setup.

I’m seeing you previously had a firewall plugin installed as well as some SSL-helper plugins. My advice would be to start with the steps listed here, especially disabling all plugins to make sure nothing is interfering with your network communications:

If that doesn’t help, contact your host and ask them to open up xmlrpc.php for you.
