Adding links to thumbnails in a gallery.

any suggestions on a plugin that will allow you to add a link to a thumbnail in a gallery. Currently they link to the image of which they are a thumbnail, but i want to be able to link to a post or a different image? Currently if you create a gallery and view the post through the html viewer you just see [gallery] so there,s no way of changing the code here? Any ideas?
