• I’m probably having the same issue as a lot of people before me. Translation with Loco plugin simply doesn’t work. While in the Customizer all the words I translate display correctly, the emails are sent in English. All words. Could be such an awesome plugin if the translation worked.

  • Hey,
Sorry to hear you are having troubles. Can you tell me which language you need it translated to I would be happy to update with that language in the plugins language files.

I’ve tested quite a lot with loco translate and hadn’t been able to create any issue. If there is anything you can tell me about your settings or setup that would help me recreate I would be more then happy to fix an issue.

    Hello,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I need to translate it into Romanian.

When I added Romanian language in Loco Translate, I did got an error message i admin, even if I was able to continue to add the language. Unfortunately, I can’t replicate the error any more.

    Hi @alex-mi,
What was the error message? Is it working now?

It was something like “Error 0”. I can’t see it anymore, even if I delete the language and add it again, but nothing else has changed – the emails are still in English, even if the Customizer preview shows them in Romanian. I have the latest version of WP, Woo, Loco, and I have deactivated all plugins except for Really Simple SSL (for Cloudflare mixed content) and still nothing.

I wasn’t able to recreate. Following these steps:

    1. Settings > general. I set the site language to “Roman?”

    2. installed Loco translate: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/loco-translate/

    3. Under Loco translate > plugins > Kadence Woocommerce Email Designer I added a new language.

    4. Under those settings, I chose “Roman?” for the language and set the po location to custom: languages/loco/plugins/kadence-woocommerce-email-designer-<locale>.po

    5. I translated the word Product to Produs.

    6. I tested to see it taking effect in the customizer then tested by going through checkout and viewing the emails woocommerce sent as well as manually sending emails from within the plugin settings. All emails showed the translated Produs instead of product.

I’m sorry I was not able to recreate your issue. I will update the plugin with an included Romanian translation.

Hmmm, oddly enough, It may be a Cloudflare caching problem, possibly? One day after I made a change (Quantity to Cantitate in Romanian) the word actually changed in a real email, not a test from customizer.

The steps you have recreated are exactelly what I did.

Would appreciate the Romanian translation ??

It would be very odd to be a caching problem because that isn’t something that is cached. I can’t guess why it would work now and not before but I’m glad to hear it’s working. There should be another update this week with most of the plugin translated to Romanian.

The new update works, the translation is good. Thank you very much for your help! Still, just FYI, I’ve waited 24 hours after the update to be able to receive the test emails in Romanian and not in English:)

I’m actually have the same issue with Chinese translations. I only needed a few words translated, which I did with Loco. The correct translations show in the Customizer but not the emails. I’ve even copied the .po and .mo files to all three locations suggested by Loco. I’ve been making short translation of key Chinese words on several plugins over the last few days. I’ve got the process down. Is there is a reason why Kadence WooCommerce Email Designer is showing the translations in the Customizer and not emails?

    Many thanks!

If it’s not showing in the emails but is showing in the customizer. This usually means your templates are either being overridden by something else or your language isn’t properly being set when the woocommerce email functions run (are you using a multilingual site?) or you have some server caching that needs to be cleared.

Thanks for the reply. It’s not a multilingual site — strictly Chinese. I should say that the graphical and body text modifications do show in the emails, just not the translations. I can try deactivating other plugins to see if they are conflicting. Regarding the server cache, how would I clear it? I’ve never done such an operation. Is that done within WordPress or through my site host?

    Many thanks again!

hmm, it should have already cleared by this kind of time. I can’t recreate your issue on my test servers though. Loco translate works perfectly fine for me.

Perhaps you can send me the translation files you have created and I test with them.

Ben, thanks for the help. I’m sending the translation file now.
