In a recent update there was a change to WYSIWYG fields. Allow Shortcodes is deactivated by default.

This has caused problems on a couple of my sites.. I’ve been using pods for years (seriously, pods are amazing and I feel terrible for complaining!)

What’s happening is users are going in and editing and then saving.. and then the shortcodes that have been doing their job for a long time are suddenly dissapearing.

Can we make the change in future updates to have “Allow Shortcodes” default to ON?

@angelinazooma “Allow Shortcodes” has always been off by default when you create new fields.

Are you saying that the option ‘flipped’ for you in your existing fields where you had it checked and they’ve changed to unchecked?

If it’s the latter (or if you’d like to be checked by default on all new creations, which might mess up folks who don’t want this behavior, so it might need to be an ‘option’ to set defaults for fields for your Pods Configuration sitewide), that would be a bug or a feature request and we have an established support channel for those so we can track them properly: https://github.com/pods-framework/pods/issues/new/choose

Thanks, I’m closing this ticket in deference to the one you’ll create at GitHub.
