• In my theme structure I noticed there are 2 style.css files:
    – 1 under wp-content/themes/painter/style.css
    – 1 under wp-content/themes/css/style.css

    which takes precedent and why?

    why are there 2?

    thanks!!

OK, I would agree, and my error.

Now what if the second style.css was UNDERNEATH Painter in a folder by the name of CSS?

    wp-content/themes/painter/css/style.css

In other words if there are 2 style.css files in the mix which takes precedence?

the one who’s theme is active and who’s relative paths point to the style.css

So I think you are saying that WordPress only uses ONE style.css sheet and the other (in the subfolder CSS) is unused?

right unless it’s IE specific or something and is actually called from the theme
