I have migrated a wordpress site but the same URL… When I visit the site, it’s pages are lost and when I login to admin and click on permalink menu, it creates a . htaccess and then I can’t even view the site again or login to admin unless I delete the . htaccess bit still some pages are missing tho it shows in the admin that those pages are there but when I open in the website, it’s missing there.
    Help me fix. Thanks

  • Right now it appears WordPress is re-writing the URLs, but the web server is not processing the rewrite rules. That’s why all the links on your website don’t work.

Kindly check and be sure the permalink setting is on the default (PLAIN). Let’s get the pages to display with “ugly” URLs before we worry about changing permalinks.

    Waiting here for your feedback.

Does it means that, the pages will work later on if I should wait for a while…

Because the URLs are correct but just showing not found…. And when I goto the permalink menu, the site don’t open, it rather download.
Then when I check the tiles, . htaccess is created but when I delete, the homepage of the website open and I can also login to wordpress admin

Currently I’ve deleted the .htaccess file so the homepage works as I can login to wp admin.
But I don’t know why the other pages aren’t working

    With the .htaccess file deleted…

Head over to the permalinks page (if it works) and set it to PLAIN and save changes.
