Hide Main Author

    I want to hide the author of a post if it’s me (the main blogger), but I want to show the author if it’s a guest blogger. Is there a way to do this?

    Hello journeyguy,

    I hope I understand your question fully and if I do please let me know if the below helps you out and or if this solved your problem.

    Click “Appearance” and select “Editors” from the menu that appears. Click the drop-down box in the upper-right corner of the screen. Select the theme in which you would like to hide the author profile.

    Else I would help look for an answer to help solve your problem with you.

    What code exactly can I use? I am wanting to exclude the main author (me) from showing but to show anyone else who writes. If I use ?php the_author, it shows everyone (including me).

    Okey I am not sure that I can help you with a code to achieve this but have you tried out this plugin before? https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/show-hide-author/

    I have not given it a go myself but according to its description it is able to:
    – CHOOSE TO SHOW OR HIDE THE AUTHOR NAME
    * In Different Post Types
    * In Individual Pages
    * In Custom URLs

    Let me know if this solved your problem else I will look for some help from friends who might know a coding solution for you.
