Search returning all rows

  • Search functionality works very sporadically – sometimes I get results but most I get all the records when I specify search criteria. Is it possible that the target instance is changing. I’ve seen both 1 and 2.

    This is the short code I have in the shortcode section on the same page(elementor page builder) –
    to search – [pdb_search target_instance=1]

    for the list –
    [pdb_list]
    [pdb_search target_instance=1]

    When using certain kinds of theme that display content dynamically, you can run into problems like this when using the [pdb_search] shortcode because of how the page is composed by the theme. In a situation like that, you will find that the search works much more reliably if you use the search form built into the list display instead of the [pdb_search] shortcode.

    [pdb_list search=true]
