    Hi,

Posting this to make the developer aware and to hopefully help others.

I admin multiple sites with premium Mailpoet installed and had noticed that Hotmail and Yahoo were bouncing my mail

Through trial and error using mail-tester I noticed that if you use the built in social icons in an email [rather than using your own custom icons/images] then your SpamAssassin score is reduced by 1.6 points showing error:

URI_WP_HACKED_2 URI for compromised WordPress site, possible malware

So the resulting URI’s flag as malware spam

Workaround is to use custom images for social network links until the plugin author can take a look…

    cheers

    Hi there Tyler,

Thank for letting us know, can you send us the URL’s that were displaying as hacked, please?

As I’ve tried to replicate and haven’t yet been able to.

For the safety of the forum, please send the URLs to support(at)mailpoet.com.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I’ve sent the urls your plug creates by email. The error suggests its the URLs but regardless, leaving any social icon in the newsletter seems to cause the issue, using custom icon images solves the problem.

    best

    Hi @kitcummings,

Don’t worry about that, it’s a false positive. Effectively you’re getting that because of the images in the newsletter.

For best practices images are loaded remotely from your site but this means they have the wp-content path. The SpamAssassin rule incorrectly flags that as a potential danger.

It will have no effect on emails landing in inboxes and won’t harm your sending reputation.

    Thanks!

same story.. we dont want a -1.62

I’ve been getting the same thing on my Newsletter list when checking Spam tester.

-1.629 URI_WP_HACKED_2 URI for compromised WordPress site, possible malware

The last check was Friday 18th Jan 2019 Open rate was ‘Bad’

With social icons in the newsletter, score : 7,6
without social icons, score : 9

How can we change those social icons provided by mailpoet ?

I’m the OP, developer marked this as ‘resolved’ but it has not been unfortunately…

not the end of the world but cannot use built in social icons for sending.

    I have the same problem.

I have the same issue here. I don’t understand the answer, if it gets flagged, it gets flagged and may not make it to the inbox. Even if it isn’t for a good reason.

This topic seems to have go astray with too many “me, too” comments that really aren’t.

A lot more people will see your post, and that way you stand a good chance of getting the assistance you want. Despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be completely different because of possible differences in physical servers, accounts, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc. Thus one problem, on one setup is not indicative of the functionality and reliability of an application as a whole.
