• Hello,

I am trying to use your plugin to allow the sailing club i support to display a document about our Club Trophy’s giving thier history etc. the word doc is about 50+ pages. The document is a series of tables with level 1, 2 & 3 headers being used on nearly every page. The document also has a Table of Contents at the front.

    The issues i have are
Is it possible to edit the document after it is loaded within the wordpress page? i want to remove the TOC page number for example.
The header information in the TOC and on all pages appears to have been lost……
The text has different styles within the table and this is also lost. including basic Centreing within a cell.

    thanks for your assistance

Apologies, I forgot to mention that the first Trophy entry has had some of the centring issue manually fixed.

Yes, you should be able to edit the page normally.

Mammoth intentionally doesn’t copy the exact formatting of the document. The idea is that you’d use styles to semantically mark up your document instead (i.e. using the styles in Word), so that the result of the import matches the styles used by your site. If you’re looking for something to copy the exact formatting, right down to the direct formatting applied in Word without styles, then Mammoth isn’t the right tool for the job.

Thank You for your response. I have looked around and cannot find anything that suits my purpose at present.

One observation i have made is that your Plugin is the only facility i have found that converts images within the text to be transferred into Word, which is extremely important in what i am trying to do.
One area i am struggling with is the editing capabilities, my Word document is basically a lot of tables, and if i need to edit the table within WordPress it will not allow me to alter the table in any way… is this correct?

I cannot even delete the whole table and start again? i have to delete the Post and recreate it it from scratch.

    thx

I don’t have time to check right now, but my recollection is that the default WordPress editor doesn’t let you edit tables, unless you want to edit the HTML directly. Mammoth generates ordinary HTML tables, so if you want to edit the tables in the visual editor, any plugin that allows editing of HTML tables should work.
