For most of this week, when trying to access my blog, I receive nothing but a blank page. And I mean blank, nothing but white. It was working perfectly well before hand, I hadn’t changed any settings, heck I hadn’t even posted anything or did more than simply log in to the admin area (at most I reviewed a couple of pages, by simply clicking on links navigating to them, but nothing else).

I’ve been on at my host because this started out with a HTTP 500 Internal Server Error (since I hadn’t changed anything I could only assume it was a server-side issue), but they insist it’s on my end. I’ve tried manually deleting any cached files and anything else that’s obsolete, but nothing. I’m also unable to access any admin files via my browser (basically all pages within the blog are inaccessible). I even tried renaming the entire plugins directory, then re-opening the blogs homepage, but it didn’t make any difference.

Has this happened to anyone else, and did you find a solution to it?

    Cheers (^_^)

  • Did you try to repair your database?

I tried to restore a backup copy of it, but I keep receiving an error message. I also tried to manually re-configure it, but no luck.

You may want to just start from scratch. You could do hundreds of trial and error things, and still never figure it out.

If you save a copy of your database, themes, and plugins you should be fine.

Just delete everything and start over. Might be the quickest option.

Or hire a pro to troubleshoot it.

I’ve pretty much resigned myself to that… I’ve had to do it once before (was completely unexpected so didn’t have much of it backed up), this time however, I’ve backed up pretty much everything as I’ve went along so realistically it shouldn’t really cost me more than a week to get it back to the way it was (and hopefully as far as I’d intended to get it this time).

Truth is, I’m getting really fed up with how temporamental wordpress can be when it comes to plugins, so I’m looking into alternatives (starting with Drupal) before I spend time on something that will more than likely repeat this process.

Thanks though, tluskie, I appreciate the advice ??
