Facilities with wordpress (?)

Hi.

I’m a former e107 user, and in e107 there was a feature- “submit news”. This was pretty handy for my use. I’m now building a news blog, and is therefore somewhat dependent on my users as contributors (community)

-Is this possible with wordpress?
-How?
-what extensions do I need?
