Sort Order Change Not working

    Hello:

    I have a gallery and have tried many different ways to change the order. First, I tried using the following shortcodes: order_by=”imagedate” order_direction=”ASC”. That did not seem to change anything. Tried different options and everything. Then I tried changing the sort order and saving it under that specific gallery and still no luck.

    Can someone help me on the best and most effective way to change the order so that move recently posted images show first. And not only for current pictures in the gallery; but for future uploads?

    Hi Tamer,

    Please try to set the sort order from “Gallery -> Other Options -> Image Options -> What’s the default sorting method?”

    I add my problem here because it is identical.
    Using NextGen 3.1.14

    In above post you was asking the user:
    Please try to set the sort order from “Gallery -> Other Options -> Image Options -> What’s the default sorting method?”
    In my configuration I have defined:
    Date/Time (Datum/Zeit) Decending (Absteigend)

    This is what I want – to have the newest picture on top.

    I have several Gallery but this function only works for the first one. All other Gals are ignored.

    What I have to do to have all galleries sorted as defined above?

    Update – problem solved!

    I was looking for the solution since long time. Maybe because the sun is shining, I found the solution today. And it is easy!

    Because my WP is in german, I try to translate the menues in english but I will mention the german menue name in ()

    Within your dashboard, go to “Pages” (Seiten)
    choose the page you want to sort – click on “Edit” (Bearbeiten) below the page title
    In the next window on top you see NextGenGallery and below two buttons. One is Edit (Bearbeiten).
    Click once on to Edit (Bearbeiten) button
    Click again on to Edit (Bearbeiten) button

    In next window, on top you have 3 sections “CHOOSE DISPLAY”, “CUSTOMIZE DISPLAY SETTINGS” and “SORTIERE ODER SCHLIESSE BILDER AUS”.
    Click onto the last one (Sortiere…)

    Now you can choose “Sort by” and “order by”.
    After you did your selection, click on “INSERT GALLERY” (this will save your changes – why does not called “update” or “save changes”?
    You are back now on your page. On top right you have to UPDATE (Aktualisieren), else you loose your changes

    If you go to your webpage, you should see correct sorting of your pictures.
