    Hi there,

since a couple of days, I get errors when I want to make a full backup (full backup: Database, Plugins, Files, XML-Export). I discovered, that this is obviously a Problem when I want to include the XML-Export. There are no issues without the XML-Export.

Is this because of other Plugins? After I updated some Plugins, this backup error occured. Unfortunately, I do not know, for which Plugins I made the updates, so if this could be a necessary Information for you, please tell me how I can get this Information for you.

    Thank you very much!

    Puuuh! : -) Quiet a lot…

As I wrote, I made some updates and after that, I had this XML-export-error. Is there a possibility, where I can see, which updates I made on which day? Then I could give you a better hint of the Plugins which might be involved…

    Thank you!

    hi @julia0902,
Could you please use Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin to enable *only* BackWPUp then try to run a test backup, then after that, if it works, try to enable each plugin one by one and do the backup test again to find what caused the issue?

No worry since the Health Check plugin will not make changes to your site, after disable troubleshooting mode, all your plugins and themes will be back to normal.

    Thank you ??

    Hi @julia0902,
I found a report about extract issue like you in here, could you please take a look?
    https://wpml.org/forums/topic/fatal-error-call-to-a-member-function-get_element_id-on-null/
The author said that issue will be fixed in WPML 4.1.2.
I’m not sure but maybe that can help?
    Thanks!

    Hi @duongcuong96,

thank you a lot for the article.

I used the Troubleshooting plugin and I activated only BackWPUp. Then I started a backup only with the XML-Support and I got the error message again.

–> FEHLER: Ausnahme eingefangen in Error: Call to a member function get_element_id() on null

So that would mean to me, that this is only a BackWPuo-plugin issue and not a conflict with another, isn’t it?

    Best regards,
    Julia

    Hi there,

we are facing a similar issue, only thing we did to our site was updating:
    BackWPup 3.6.6 on Nov 29
    wpml-media-translation 2.4.0 on Nov 29
    wpml-string-translation 2.9.0 on Nov 29
    wpml-translate-management 2.7.0 on Nov 29
    sitepress-multilingual-cms 4.1.0 (WPML core) on Nov 29
    contact-form-7 5.1 on Dec 11

Last successful backup was on Nov 29 in the morning, all backups starting from Nov 30 have failed due to the WordPress XML export logging the error mentioned by julia0902

I have to admit, that we might have updated from an older version for each of those plugins (so we might have not run on “n-1” versions, but rather updated from “n-2” or “n-3”)

    internationalschoolcologne

    (@internationalschoolcologne)

Solved for us, with updating WPML core to 4.1.2 as suggested.
