    Hello Developers,

Here is the WISH LIST, as far as a gallery is concerned:

    1. I want to be able to use DIFFERENT THUMBNAIL images in my gallery (not a crop from the larger image that it clicks into). There are many ways for a designer to use this. For example, the thumbs may be icons signaling a concept to click in to; or the thumbs could be the covers o magazines, and then click into an image of the article in that magazine; or the thumbs could be a carefully chosen image signaling the concept, or topic of the image that has the layout with words on it.

    2.

      Responsive Image Lightbox

has pagination that includes tiny thumbnails at the bottom. I LOVE this, HOWEVER, I cannot control the pictures in the pagination thumbs either, so that blows up my whole plan in a BAD way. Even when I have tried changing the thumbnail images through the file directory/manager and adding my chosen thumbs in that way, it does NOT change the horrible randomly cropped thumbs that are in the pagination. BOO ! The pagination thumbs are so small anyway, that we really should be able to choose some sort of a DIFFERENT image (custom) or icon to be able to make best use of that feature.

    3. Clean up the CODE that shows on hover on the thumbs and gallery images. It is distracting, and draws away from the design and where we want the attention to go. In my opinion it starts to look amateurish when that shows up. I’m not talking about the Title information on one of those gray drop down veils that comes down over the thumb with the title information, I mean some text from an image title that sometimes has code in it, that sometimes shows up on hover.

    4. We would like to control where we can add text above and / or below the “plus” icon on the gray drop down veil that comes down over the thumb on hover.

Well, thank you very much for reading my wish list. I would love to know your thoughts …

    Kind regards,

    FYI
I have tried changing the thumbs in ROBOGallery through the file directory, and it is TIME CONSUMING, but even worse that that, if I add a new image to the gallery later, the thumb link is broken, even if I re-add it to the file directory again it is still broken, so forget adding more.

The file directory does not seem to be a reliable way to change the thumbs since we constantly have to debug why there is a broken link if we add new images.

I don’t know if we ask ROBOGALLERY not to cache (so it will load faster) if that means that it will revert all the custom thumbs back to the automatically generated thumbs. Please advise on this.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Thank you for your messages, feedback from user it’s very important for us as developers. We’re really appreciate all your features request and problems description.

Let’s try to overview every point step by step. Right now we’re working on new release of the Robo Gallery version 3.0. It’s gonna be absolutely new and much more powerful plugin with a lot of new features for the front end design and layouts, general functionality new integrations, add-ons. We have plans for release advanced Gutenberg blocks integration, social network tools (for example Instagram resources import or facebook comments and galleries integration), slider and carousel front end views and much much more. This release will be really soon and we’re so excited about this release.

    According to your questions:
    1. This is really interesting function and I wish you to know that we already start work on add-on which gonna work like gallery cover images. Actually it’s exactly the same functionality which you described in your post. This cover image could be unique for every gallery and in settings you can select if you wish to join this cover image to the general gallery images list or exclude it and use only as cover.

    2. Not sure if I correct understand your point with lightbox crop and pagination functionality. Anyway, our gallery lightbox do not crop images, but layout of the images could be different , depend of the layout of the source images. If you have uploaded to the gallery mix of the portrait and landscape layouts then such difference could happening in lightbox. Actually, new lightbox which gonna be included in new version will have another additional navigation slideshow mode with sticky thumbnails carousel aligned to the one side of the enlarged image of the gallery.

    3. in most cases such problems could be a reason of the conflict of the HTML code which generated by gallery and the rest site content. For example theme code or added to the content. Another reason could be in missed tags. In the case if you insert some HTML tags in images description then try to make sure that code is clean and do not have any errors or missed tags. If it’s not gonna help just send link to the gallery page and we’ll check it more close.

    4. Would be nice to get gallery link to see how it’s looks like.

    5. Actually if you try to modify or delete images directly on server it’s not gonna work properly. Could you please explain what exactly task with gallery do you wish to accomplish and we’ll try to find solution with you together.
