I notice the free security scan from managewp.com gives an issue. Anyone know of a workaround? Basically the site can’t be scanned while in maintenance mode, but is there any way to whitelist managewp somehow? It would be really great if that is possible.

    Thanks!

When I run security scan with maintenance mode plugin on: https://www.screencast.com/t/KosL4rkMjzdR

Then I run without maintenance mode on and it comes back normal and clean.

    Hello @crazywpgeek,

I have never used ManageWP. Maybe you should click on “learn more” on each warning to see what’s the problem.

As I said, I have never used ManageWP. So I will have to test and see what can I do. No ETA.

Just registered on their website and did a security check on a test environment. As long as you have the website in maintenance mode, ManageWP will report that kind of errors. Here’s the explanation:

    Malware entry: warning.maintenance

Description: Web page cannot be reliably scanned as it says that it is in the Maintenance Mode.

Most likely website undergoes some changes at the moment and you should scan it later when the maintenance is over. It also can be a sign of a security problem when hackers corrupted the site and the “maintenance” page is used as a fall back.

So no worries about that report because there is no malware. ??

@crazywpgeek I’ve talked with ManageWP support, and they said that you need to exclude a list of IP addresses (go to “Settings” > “WP Maintenance Mode” > “General” tab > “Exclude” > add one IP address per line).

    1. ManageWP IPs: https://managewp.com/troubleshooting/general/managewp-ips-can-white-list
    2. Sucuri IPs (used by “Security Check”):
    66.228.40.185
    50.116.36.93
    198.58.96.212
    3. UptimeRobot IPs (used by “Uptime Monitor”): https://uptimerobot.com/locations
    4. GTMetrix IPs (used by “Performance Check”): https://gtmetrix.com/locations.html

    Hope it helps! ??
