Hello everyone, so basically we are having a problem with checkout.

We have the option for pick-up or delivery limited to geolocation.

There seems to be a glitch in Woocommerce as when an order is placed outside the defined areas a customer is still able to place the order.

What is the purpose of setting specific post codes if a customer outside those parameters can still place an order?

Is there a way to prevent that?

    Hi there!

Can you explain how you set up those zipcodes? Can you also link to a screenshot of your shipping zone page? I recommend https://snag.gy for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in your response.

    Hi there!

Under shipping -> shipping zone I have determined which post codes I want to ship too.

How to prevent customers outside those zones to place an order?

All I get when outside the shipping zone is the customer notice “No shipping options were found for…” and yet the order can still be placed.

    thanks

    Hi there!

Yes, you have it set up correctly from the sounds of things. If you do not have a shipping option available, and your product is a physical product (downloadable/virtual product type not checked) then you should get an error at checkout.

This is what I see in that case when I hit the button to place the order from the checkout page. (see screenshot: https://cld.wthms.co/S1tczH )

    Hi there!

I am afraid that is still not working.

If a customer selects a zip code 1234 and we only allow 1238 it is still possible to place an order.

    Is there a solution?

    Howdy ??

All I get when outside the shipping zone is the customer notice “No shipping options were found for…” and yet the order can still be placed.

In the case of no available shipping, this is the expected behavior when someone attempts to place the order:

The fact that this does not seem to be working as expected on your site leads me to believe that this behavior is caused by a conflict. How we usually address this type of issue is to have you temporarily switch back to a default WordPress theme such as WordPress Twenty Seventeen Theme (https://www.ads-software.com/themes/twentyseventeen/) or Storefront (https://www.ads-software.com/themes/storefront/) and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce. If that resolves the issue, then re-enable features one-by-one until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.

    Kind regards,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
